Positive: The fool is usually the first card of the major arcana but some decks place it at the end. There has been much debate over the years as to where this card really belongs. The fool, whether at the beginning or at the end of the major arcana, represents the initiation into the circle of life. This is why the fool is usually numbered as zero. Understanding that life is a circle is very significant because it should help you to understand some of the basic truths of reincarnation. The fool represents a motivation; he is the innocent one who takes a leap of faith to gain wisdom and insight. The fool steps forth without regard to warning. He is free to make his own choices. The fool knows there will be consequences to his actions but he steps forth anyway. The fool reminds us to take heed to the signs of spirit around us and to be on guard. The fool is innocent before he steps forward but until he does the cycle of life cannot begin. Negative:Lack of motivation to start something new, succumbing to fear, turning away from learning. Being heavily depressed or restricted. Lack of freedom or choices, imprisonment.

A Birthday Star

I sat there crying, trying to get control over myself.
In my hand was a small box with a silky white ribbon with a silver star pendant clinging onto it. Something about this present was very special. I didn't understand why I had started crying though.
"Alvin!" I cried as I wiped away some of my tears.
He popped his head out from a group of our classmates when he heard me call his name. When he realized it had been me and saw my tear-stained face, a mischievieous smile spread across his face.
"Why're you crying, birthday girl?"
I picked up the ribbon and let the light shine on its silver star.
"You don't like my present?" He pretended to look hurt, but I knew he knew I loved the gift.
"Alvin...!" I sobbed as I got up to push him.
Alvin pulled me into his arms and I tried to wriggle free. He still had on that smile of his as he laughed. Alvin stuck his right hand into his pocket and began searching for something in there. I stopped trying to break free of his embrace to see what he was going to pull out.
Alvin finally found what he was searching for and pulled out a silky black ribbon with a silver star. I just stood there staring at the ribbon he hald in his hand.
Alvin tied the black ribbon to his neck and smiled as he tied the white ribbon to mine.
Then, he pulled me close and whispered in my ear, "Happy birthday, Anne." Alvin kissed my cheek before pulling away.
Tears spilled from my eyes once again as I stared into his smiling face.
"Alvin..."
He heard me and opened his arms and I ran into them.

It hurts.
My heart hurts.
I thought I liked him
and maybe I still do.
I don't know what happened,
but I smiled whenever I thought of him.
My cheeks began to glow and feel warm
as I spoke about him to someone.
I was so happy when I got his screen name,
but it was short lived.
I tried to say 'hi' a few times
and he responded about twice.
He only remembered me as someone else's friend.
Today I almost cried when I found out he blocked me.
It hurts.
My heart hurts.

Searching for a Light

I don't want to be here.
I dont know who to trust.
I've shed my last tear.
I've had enough.
This feeling building up inside,
I cannot describe.
Fear occupies my heart
and leaves me in the dark.
I'm searching for a light
that will lead me home.
It will end this endless night
and bring the glow of dawn.
